Orthopedic Therapy for Joint Replacement

Our goal is to get you moving again. When it comes to joint replacement, your therapy begins before surgery, with pre-op exercises. Each patient is educated to better understand what to expect and how to prepare for surgery. Exercise, nutrition and wellness are all part of your individualized care program.

Physical therapy focuses on getting you out of bed, walking around your environment and up and down stairs, and stretching and strengthening exercises. Occupational therapy focuses on your ability to perform activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, tub or shower transfer, and using a toilet. Rehabilitation begins at home prior to surgery and resumes as early as the day of surgery.

After your procedure, our physical and occupational therapists will continue to work with you, individually and in group sessions. The goal of therapy is to increase strength and range of motion in your new joint, so you feel better faster, and regain function.
