Event Details

Presented by: St. Mary Medical Center - A Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery*

Featuring: Richard Browne, MD, General Surgery
Douglas Dedelow, DO, Minimally Invasive Gynecology
Jason Frazier, MD, Thoracic Surgery

Robot-assisted surgery has transformed surgical practice and improved the patient experience in many ways. St. Mary Medical Center is Northwest Indiana's first hospital to be designed a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery.*  Surgeons at St. Mary Medical Center have performed more than 1,200 procedures using Da Vinci surgical robotics systems, which provide less invasive procedures with quicker recovery times and less pain following surgery.

Four surgeons affiliated with St. Mary Medical Center will discuss the important role that robot-assisted surgery plays in minimally invasive procedures related to general, gynecological, bariatric, and thoracic surgery. There will also be a panel discussion with questions from the audience.

A free reception will take place in the West Lobby beginning at 5 p.m. The latest Da Vinci robot-assisted surgical system, the Da Vinci XI, will be on display in the lobby for demonstrations.

* As designated by Surgical Review Corporation. This designation recognizes surgeons and hospitals that perform robotic procedures and achieve defined standards for patient safety and care quality.
